The first incarnation of Vodium as a company was founded in 2000 in Washington, DC by co-founders Cameron Clarke and Keith Cich. The company was a pioneer is the field of online video, including the ability to search digital video for spoken words via a text search. The company provided webcasting (now known was video streaming) services to many government and NGO agencies, including the FDIC, Federal Reserve, OSHA, Department of Homeland Security, and the United Nations.
Vodium’s products included:
- MediaPod Player – This product incorporated video streaming directly into PowerPoint presentations
- Media tracker – This product provide text based search of video content.
- Datacoder – This product allowed video editors to synchronize content elements within a video frame.
This version of Vodium was acquired by PrecisionIR in 2007.
In 2019, following the expiration of the Vodium trademark, Vodium was founded as a technology website with a focus on telecommunications. This website was hosted at Vodium.com.
In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the height of the work-from-home, Video conferencing trend, Vodium was founded as an innovative application that allows for Teleprompter during video conferences and “Zoom” calls. This companies website is hosted at Vodium.us.
